Joining the Co-op
The gallery occasionally has space for new artists and artisans. The co-op invites the breadth of artists and artisans from the Appalachian Highlands region to apply for possible membership.
To Apply for membership
Before applying, understand that the co-op expects that you are a practicing artist with a body of work since our artists are expected to provide a rotating exhibition of multiple works of art.
Send an email expressing your interest to ImpressionsFineArtGallery@gmail.com with the subject heading “Joining the Gallery - followed by your name”
Within the email, please include:
Your contact information (email, address, phone)
Your website and/or social media addresses (if you have one)
A statement regarding how many pieces you have available for sale
And provide the following attachments:
An artist’s statement (describe your work, your goals, etc.)
Ten electronic images presenting 10 examples of your work (in .jpg or equivalent format.)
An “artist’s resume’ “ - let us know your education, history of juried shows, art awards, exhibition history, art related service, etc. (While the quality of work dictates acceptance, these are considerations for membership.)
For your email subject line please use “Joining Gallery - (your name)”. This should help us identify your request from the mass of emails.
Please do not bring physical examples of your work to the gallery unless requested.
Submitting a request to join the co-op is not a guarantee of acceptance.
Our Selection Process
Admission to the co-op is a juried process. A selection committee collects submissions and meets periodically (normally every 3-4 months) to review accumulated submissions. The criteria for acceptance will be quality of work, genre (as we seek a diversity of content), and available space.
If the work submitted may fit the gallery’s current or future desires, you will be contacted to arrange a personal interview.
No work or products will be displayed without explicit approval of the selection committee.
All decisions of the committee are final and non-negotiable.
Member Obligations
Members are expected to provide a combination of service, commission, and/or dues so the gallery can continue to operate. The exact combination and amounts will be discussed and negotiated at the personal interview and determined by space requirements, type of art or craft, and the artists or artisans circumstances and skillsets.
