introduction to Still Life

Have you wanted to learn how to paint or draw but worried you needed to be an artist? Introduction to still life will teach you how to draw or paint a still life in your choice of medium. Students will be led step by step, from start to finish, to create their own masterpiece . Students will bring the materials they wish to work in such as pencil, pastels, watercolors, acrylics or etc.
Workshop fee is $35.
Registration is required because there are only 5 seats available! If there is great interest than other classes will be scheduled for later dates.

Meet your Instructor: Anne Gurney Thwaites
Anne Gurney Thwaites graduated from Emory & Henry College with a BA in English and Art. She continued her education with classes from ETSU and numerous workshops. For decades, she has taught children's after school and summer art programs, adult and senior center classes in Virginia and Tennessee. Primarily an oil and acrylic painter, she focuses mainly on landscape, but she enjoys working in and teaching everything from printmaking to watercolor and collage. She is available for commission work in a variety of subjects and also enjoys painting flowers and old houses. She's won many awards in local and regional fine art shows.
